Win the Opportunity
The interviewing process is completed and you have been told an offer is in the mail. WOW!
The excitement builds as you check the mailbox or wait for the FedEx person to arrive. Once that envelope is in your hands you tear it open and begin to read it. Well not really, you actually skim the first welcoming paragraph and all the boiler plate information. Yes, you are looking for the numbers, everything else can wait.
With a shock on your face, you see the numbers. This can't be right. In your head you do the math, $X times 12 equals 90% of what you were expecting. What went wrong?
A frequent mistake is made in the job search process by assuming that because the company knows how much a candidate is currently earning, the company will make a higher offer. We can't count the number of times a candidate says to us, "I don't understand why the offer is so low, they know what I was making."
Low offers are generally the candidate's fault. Just because the interviewing is over doesn't mean the hiring process is over. Our Career Success Methodology will show you how to skillfully navigate the end-game to ensure you not only receive an offer, but that it meets your expectations.
