I'm impressed. Maybe. Sort of. While this article may seem to talk a good game, and may even be executed as such...the reverse is also true.

I have absolutely crossed scores of Recruiting "pros" off my list for future contact due to complete lack of acumen [let alone follow-thru], so mercifully, I don't even bother with their first question anymore. I'll just go direct to their client.

This article implies they somehow have the 'upper-hand'; that is so only if you let them. I say otherwise. So should everyone reading this, who wants to direct their own destiny. Thanks for the perspective.

MW
This is really to little information to make a recommendation. There are just too many variables that I don't know.

I am seeking a CFO position with a small public company.

I have been CFO of a private company.

I have been Controller of a public company.

I also have the 'classic' BIG 4 CPA firm background considered by some to be a pre-requisite to be a public company CFO.

Given that every CFO of a public company has to get a first job in that role, what would be your suggestion for moving forward along this path.

I agree with your philosophy!
I also believe that it is critical to have a Target List of companies when looking for a new opportunity.
If you'd like more information about this concept, please let me know.
